Building Information Modeling / Integrated Project Delivery

Rodriguez and Quiroga’s implementation and use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software combined with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methods serve as tools towards the goal of delivering exceptional buildings. BIM produces three-dimensional models of buildings which enable the design team to compose virtual buildings before construction, with the intention of improving quality, speed of delivery, and cost. BIM and IPD data sharing between the design and construction teams increases productivity in construction by eliminating barriers binding the team together as a unified entity focused on the client’s best interests.
